SMS has since its very beginning offered consultancy services to the maritime- and offshore business sector. The project division deals with physical, real-time simulation and visualisation of various types of maritime operations such as:
• Offshore Loading; conceptual studies, risk analysis
• Harbour development studies & challenging/narrow waters
• Offshore crane operations; pre-simulation of challenging lifts, establishing operational procedures,
subsea-operations
• Vessel modelling; test of design, effect of various thrusters- and rudder types on vessels’
manoeuvrability
• Accident investigation and -reconstruction
SMS also conduct full scale ship tests (trial trips) with necessary documentation, pre operation –analyses, pre- construction and lifting analyses (offshore crane), research and development.
SMS employ experienced master mariners that take part in the various projects as advisors, also making sure that human element issues are attended to.
